Frog Howl

Notes from a shaman's journey

How I see a Cedar Tree

A tall old cedar tree caught my eye when I went for a walk outside the Rainier Lodge.

The old cedar is tall and straight with a twisted trunk. Its branches adorned full of foliage of yellow green with a hint of an orange glow. There are dead branches among the live ones.

If I were a wood worker I would see furniture, a roofer would see shingles. How do I really see the cedar?

I see a being with consciousness and soul, a creation of spirit, a child of Spirit, a piece of Spirit.

Spirit, God, Creator Source are all ways to say Love.

The Cedar is Love.
